

Donald Edgar Lauterbach, 73, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday,
March 1, 2008, at his home. He was born on Feb. 8, 1935, in Hope, AR to Harry
Edgar and Katherine Stuart Lauterbach. .
The complimentary quote on his senior picture in the 1953 HHS yearbook was:
"A knowledge both of books and mankind." At HHS Don was active in English IV
Club; FFA his senior year, and was on the junior-senior prom program his junior
year. He served in the US Marines and his picture in uniform is on our "Military"
page on the 1953 class web site.
Don was retired from the former Tex-Ark Joist Co. and owner/operator of “Steel
Fabrication Services.” He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by one brother,
Billy Lauterbach.
Don’s survivors include his wife of 41 years, Lillie Morris Lauterbach of Hope,
AR; two sons: Danny Gorham, Hope, AR and David Gorham, Owasso, OK; one
daughter: Donna Elizabeth Lee, Hope, AR; two brothers: Jack Lauterbach,
Waxahachie, TX and Danny Lauterbach, Hope, AR. Four sisters: : Liz Bobo,
Bedford, TX;. Gail Gibson, Garland, TX; Mary May, Raleigh, TX; Linda Bell,
Hope, AR; and four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and friends.
The family received friends Fri., March 7, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at
Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, AR.
Funeral services were Sat., Mar. 8, 2008, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home
Chapel, Hope, AR with Rev. William Tyler officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill
Cemetery, Hope, AR with arrangements by Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope,
AR.
