Memories of Pat Bearden Robinson
by Mary Jo Fincher Curtis
Pat, Darrel Messer, Richard Hunt and I started to school together in first
grade at Rocky Mound School. We all attended the Rocky Mound Baptist
Church. We also spent much time together playing and just having fun in
Dyke Springs having picnics and wading in the water. Pat has an older sister,
Frances Turner (her husband is RC Turner), her youngest sister was Linda,
and then I believe her middle sister Martha was mentioned as was her brother
James.
Pat's father Alfred worked at Tol-a-TEX service center until they moved to
Texas. Pat's mother (Dale) was a Butler and Tootsie was her brother. Their
father was Tom Butler and his wife that was their mother was a Dillard. All
of them I do believe came from the Bodcaw area. When Pat's mother and
daddy came back from Texas, they were members of Unity Baptist
Church.

Memory of Pat Bearden
by Nelda T. Doyle
Pat was one of my bridal attendants when Tom D. and I were married. She was,
also, the inspiration of the attendants' gowns. Pat's prom dress was yellow taffeta
and netting with ruffles everywhere. At that time, the FBC had amber-colored
windows and the shining afternoon sun cast a golden glow all over the sanctuary. I
thought how beautiful Pat's prom dress would be in that light. So, I added a net
stole to the dress and all of my attendants wore a copy of Pat's dress. All of them
wore yellow-net headbands except Mary Jo, who wore a yellow-net-and-taffeta
picture hat. A beautiful memory for me. NTD
