Memories of Mini Reunion of 2007
by Clyde Arnold
After attending the golf match on Thursday, we all met the next morning at the
Best Western Motel and continued to fellowship with Buddy Mosley and others.
A group of us visited the sale of 150 trailers by FEMA. We, all in each of two
cars, had to show ID and to agree not to film the trailers or carry any firearms on
the premises. We all agreed. It had rained the night before but we all went into
the trailers to check them out. Some intended to bid on them via the internet after
we returned and Perry did.
We continued to fellowship together. Perry had set up his scanner and was busy
with Bernard Dunn scanning his scrapbook of many photos while Joyce, Darryl
and I attended the Jonquil Festival at Old Washington for several hours. We had
a great time again and saw many things that we had not seen before. We ate lunch
at the Guernsey Fire Dept. trailer and had a great meal after which we returned to
the motel for a nap. I had a good visit with the Roaches at the Western Sizzling
which I had mentioned earlier at the Golf outing.
We started arriving about 6 p.m. at the Los Dos Gringo‘s. There were a total of
34 attending Fri. night and one spouse came as we were leaving the cafe. Johnny
Cox's wife, Barbara Anne Cox, had her fun out in front of the café and we all
enjoyed visiting with her She attended the next morning brunch along with
several other first-time attendees such as Katie Lee Lester, John Keck,
and others. All together in attendance we had 43 classmates and spouses attend
one or more of the three planned events.
Those who attended the events were Pat and Dean Roach, Pat and Perry
Easterling, Joyce and Darryl Messer, Jesse and Carolyn Duke, Tom Ed and Betty
Jo Hays, Johnny and Dottie Tabor, Terriel and Bobbie Sparks, Barky and Avis
Fuller, Robert and Arleta Power, Billy Thornton and Linda White, Gail and
Bonnie Sinyard, Jim and Betty Willis, Ned Ray and Carolyn Purtle, Kenneth and
Diane Stewart, Phillip and Linda Gilbert, Tom and Hazel Beck, Donnell Bagley,
Clyde Arnold, Mary Jo Curtis, Bernard Dunn, Howard Thornton, Barbara Anne
Cox, Frances Arnold, Mutt Byers, Bobby Bruce, John Keck and Katie Lee Lester
for a total of 43 people.
This was a great turn out because many had last minute conflicts due to health
and church activities. We had a short business meeting in preparation for our
55th reunion for 2008 and decided on the month of October for the next major
reunion. Bonnie and Betty gave a financial report and we are still OK there.
Hope to see many more of you next year in October 2008! Mark your calendar!

October 21, 2007
After a telephone conference during the summer of 2007, a majority of the reunion
committee decided that the 55th reunion would be held on March 15-16, 2008,
instead of the October date that had previously been set.
