Born and raised in Hope:      HOPE
HOPE – The granite monument
honoring Brigadier General (Ret.)
Herbert Jack Lloyd was delicately
erected Thursday on the
Courthouse grounds. The entire
procedure took four hours.

Brigadier General Lloyd, a resident
of Hempstead County, has
achieved stellar military honors
few have, over his three decade
career, and has been inducted into
the Arkansas Military Veterans Hall
Of Fame.

Hempstead County Sheriff James
Singleton and Hope businessman
Gary Childress spearheaded the
project, which was aided by
donations from area businesses.

There will be a formal dedication of
the monument on Veterans Day,
November 11.
