Terriel went to work as a Security Officer at Meyers Bakery for a man that  had the contract
with Meyers for 19 years.  After 5 years, Meyers did not renew the contract & Pinkerton, Inc
was awarded the contract.  Out of all the officers that worked at Meyers Terriel was the only one
that Pinkerton kept on the payroll.  Shortly after Pinkerton was awarded the contract Pinkerton
sold to Securitus Security Company.  Terriel worked for Securitus for 5 years.  Upon his
retirement he was given a certificate for excellence performance and a Securitus watch .  I think
the people at Securitus were amazed that Terriel only missed 2 weeks last year (when he had
surgery) and 2 nights for the remainder of the year while he was taking chemo.

Every Thursday night Terriel would hand out checks to about 300 people.  Meyers sold  a couple
of years ago and is now called Southern Bakeries.
Bobbie's retirement reception
Barbara (Bobbie) Sparks joined the ranks of Arkansas State Employees and
became a part of the Office of Child Support Enforcement in November 1988
as a Secretary  in Hope, AR where the Sparks have lived for 40 years.  In a
few years the position name was changed to Document Examiner II in order for
the Secretaries to get an increase in pay. In 1994 she was promoted to
Investigator I and in 2001 was promoted to Investigator II, which was actually
a Supervisor position.

Bobbie served on several projects and task force committees during her tenure
with the Child Support office.

Bobbie's co-workers gave her a red wagon full of plants & gardening tools at
retirement..  Since  then, she has spent the first two weeks planting flowers and
mulching the beds.  After that a trip to Colorado to visit the oldest son, Harold,
and his family which includes 4 great-grandchildren.  The youngest is now 3
years old and this was the first she and Terriel had seen him.  After the return
home Bobbie has been catching up on housework.  All this hard work
reminded Bobbie of the hard work she did as a teenager in the "cotton patch."

When this is all completed--hopefully in a week or two--Bobbie will rest the
remainder of the summer and will start volunteering at the local primary school
and hospital.  The other days will be back to school to take a few courses at
the local college, UACCH.
