TERRIEL CLAY SPARKS

Terriel was active in Bobcat football, in FFA and 4H club at HHS and was
very involved in his Lord's Church at Hope, AR.  He was a very special
friend to me and to all who knew him.

Terriel  has been very active all these many years in making sure that
our 1953 reunions were all a success.  I don't remember a reunion which we
had that he and Bobbie did not attend except the last one and they were
both with us in Spirit. There are pictures on the web site with some old
Bobcats showing Terriel's "up-beat Spirit" and with his great Caregiver,
Bobbie, and their dog which he dearly loved.

Terriel and Bobbie Sparks were/are dear friends and the three of us
traveled in my car to his best friends' 50th wedding anniversary, Tom and
Hazel Beck, in 2005. We all had a great time with our many friends at
Tom and Hazel's celebration.

Tom Beck and Terriel were boyhood friends and had stayed very close all
these many years and Tom and Hazel were with him to the very end. They
are what I would call "everlasting friends" and were "closer than a
brother."

Terriel fought the good fight with the dreaded disease, cancer, and now
he has peace and comfort in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ.  No more pain and suffering and I know Terriel is now smiling
down on us with his beautiful smile.

Bobbie and  family are in my prayers.

In Christ Jesus's Love,

My last visit with Terriel and Bobbie Sparks  -  March 2010

I have been remembering my last visit with Terriel and Bobbie Sparks at their
home last March.  I was with Ellis Rothwell and Bernard Dunn at the time. We
had to make an appointment with Bobbie for the morning because Terriel was
stronger then and I knew he wanted to put forth his best face.  He was on an
oxygen tank at the time and seemed to be in great spirits!  We had our photos
made with him, his "bride," and his dog.  They were married in a hospital in
Texas 55 years ago on October 1, 1955, after Terriel had major surgery.  The
next-door hospital room was provided for them as their "honeymoon suite."
Another special memory I am sure for Bobbie. (see link below)

This last home visit was a really special time for Bernard, Ellis, and me but we
knew that Terriel was in his later days. He had been such a special football
player/classmate at HHS to all of us. Terriel has also been such a special
friend and classmate during these past 57 years working with the local folks at
Hope to see that all our reunions were perfectly prepared. He was always
there behind the scenes seeing that things functioned well. Bobbie was a
perfect helpmate and worker, too.  I could tell at this March visit that both of
them wanted to attend the 2010 reunion but his health would not allow it.  I
remember once that Bobbie and I, with Terriel's blessing, had attended a
Hope Bobcat Football game with Tom Ed and others. I forget what year this
was but it was a few years back. They were very special friends to me. Terriel
had the very best "caregiver" ever; she was with him to the very end.

He will be sorely missed by all his classmates and his many friends there in
Hope, AR.  I was unable to attend his funeral services due to family
commitments.   Bobbie and her family have my condolences in their loss.
Terriel suffered long and fought the great fight and he is now at peace with his
Lord.

In His love,

Clyde
