Never can I remember seeing Ronald Richards without his great smile and cheerful
attitude!

My fond memories of Ron are from middle-school grades through our contact at
reunions in Hope.  Many memories before this, but my renewed contact in person
was at the HHS 50th year reunion.  He, Sandra and Marian, Ron’s cousin, provided
food and fellowship for our class at Marian’s home in Washington, AR.  A big bonus
to the reunion festivities!

Ron and I both graduated with business degrees from Southern State in Magnolia at
the same time:  May 1957.   He was in our wedding in Crossett, AR later that year.

Again we knew Ron and his family in Bossier City and attended the same church.
Our sons played with Tim and Laurie since we lived near each other in Shady Grove.
We all attended FBC, Bossier City.   Later we all lived near each other in the
Southern Hills area in Shreveport.  I graduated high school with Tim and Laurie’s
mom where we were good friends.

Since Travis worked for an oil-field-service company, he had some contact with
Crystal Oil Company where Ron worked.  Travis and Ron had some business
lunches together when Travis (as a Halliburton Engineer) took Crystal Oil people to
business lunches. Travis and Ron were great friends from the time we knew him in
the 50’s on through life!

We are so pleased to read of all Ron’s accomplishments in the business world and
church life.  .  .many we hadn’t known!    Someone else’s words, “The unfailing
strength he found through his daily walk with Christ was made evident through his
courageous battle with cancer.”  These words sum up how we felt during his last
days on earth when I read anxiously the Caringbridge Reports of his progress and
struggles.  These reports indicated what difficult times he was having, yet how well
he handled them!

So you see, our paths crossed most of our lives and we considered Ron one of our
best, long-term friends of a lifetime.  We will miss him very much being in our lives
and already do!

Love and condolences to all the Richards family-- especially to Sandra, his lovely
wife.
