When we were kids, Ronald and I rode our bicycles everywhere we went. He rode an
older bicycle that was unstable - let go of the handlebars and you were down. Back
in those days streets in Hope, Arkansas were gravel - not good for a couple of boys
that rode fast and recklessly; consequently, we had lots of wrecks. When Ronald (I
always called him "Richards") had a wreck, he had this consistent mannerism: He
would initially be laying down like he was dead; then he would raise his head and
look at me as if to say: "Thank goodness, I'm still alive". Then he would lay his head
down again for a few moments before gatherig himself and mounting up again. We
reminisced about those days when he came to visit my wife and me in our home
several years ago. That was the last time I saw him.

*~*I remember our high school days very well. Ron was a great cheerleader and I
was a majorette. What great days in Hope that I will cherish always. I remember
him as being very much a gentleman. When I married and moved to Ft. Worth I
found out he lived one street over from me. He visited my husband and me several
times.  A few years ago, I lost my son suddenly and Ron e-mailed with such nice
words  of comfort. I treasure his kind words. I pray for comfort for his family. He
will be missed very much by all who knew him.
